Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z – ED 2 Clip

New closing theme sequence titled “Look” by HALCALI.

The new single is set to be released on December 13th. Until then, you can grab a TV-rip of the song down below:

Quick question: I realize the series was originally scheduled for 52 episodes. However, does each weekly episode count as two — seeing how we get two titles per episode. If so, then technically we’re already half-way done with the show. 52/2 = 26 episodes. I’ve had this in mind actually since the beginning. Only now it’s starting to look more obvious since Toei produced this new ED sequence, as a way of saying “thanks” for supporting our show. I can only hope its popularity in Japan will be enough to spark interest in producing a possible second season.

  1. The link you gave us in one of the previous episodes only showed 26 slots, so it might turn out to be that way.

  2. The thing though is it was stated that PPGZ would have 52 (or roughly anyways) half-hour episodes. Regardless, this is a nice ending song.

  4. Also, Toei has in the past produced “13 episode endings” for their shows. So really, you shouldn’t worry too much for this ending appearing.

  6. >Setsu: You mean this right here.

    >Mendinso: Mind providing a source for those 52 half-hour episodes? It’s not that I don’t believe you, I just want to be able to convince everyone that it’s indeed true. Thanks in advance.

  8. I saw the captures at Futaba yesterday (and made a fast comment on my blog, for the cute factor and tuned-up Mac laptop product placement LOL. I am a freak of window manager programs and OSs) and got hypered for the presence of Princess and Sakurako. Wins.
I see the animators are not bad, I wonder how come this series are such a mixed bag in terms of quality…maybe amateurs that got more skilled as it went on? Maybe it was rushed too much?
Anyway, I love this for sure. Thanks for the vid PKjd.
(I’ll be on all day BTW)

PS: Poor Momoko, I wonder why does she look so emo in the OP/ED sequences while being on a constant sugar-high during the entire series…maybe she saw *gasp* the work of doujin circles?

PS(2): I want those figurines she has in her desk. Even the Peach one. I hope some merchandise comes out soon!

  10. Now you see, I wish Toonzone would’ve provided a link to that actual article/press release. I mean I have never seen or read a Japanese source specifically state that 50+ episodes were planned from the start. If you can find that then I would be eternally grateful. Also, you were saying that Toei had produced “13 episode endings” in the past. Can you give me an example real quick? My mind is kinda cloudy at the moment, due to lack of sleep.

    >Sparrow: Me too. I always check Futaba around mid-afternoon on Fridays to see the new screen captures from the latest episode. And yeah, our very own Himeko was featured there for a second. I believe someone deserves their own spin-off yes? :D

Don’t worry about the inconsistency in the overall designs of the show. I’m sure that’s only for the TV broadcast. If Toei was smart, they would re-animate certain episodes for the DVD release, that is if they know what’s good for them.

Yeah someone was mentioning that exact same opinion as you over Momoko and her being all emo in the OP/EDs on LJ. No I don’t think it was due to the doujin circles, considering there hasn’t been enough PPGZ work from them to constitute a reaction, haha.

I’ll see if I can get back to you later — me and a friend are still currently working on that D&P; entry I was telling you about earlier.

  12. I’ll have to look around, but it was never stated in an actual press release. The information provided here was from the Tokyo International Anime Fair that was held near the end of March.

As for the endings, I probably should have been more clear. I apologize. These vary, but One Piece is a good example. The endings here can change from anywhere from 10 episode to 30 episodes. Dragonball GT is another example. (Also the first and LAST DB series to change endings often.) Usually long series for Toei usually tend to change often at different number of episodes. It’s possible PPGZ might follow a different trend and may have 13 episode endings, or maybe “13 ED 1, 26 ED 2, 13 ED 3”, but we don’t know for sure.

As for the schedule. I notice it stops right at the end of the year. I haven’t checked, but I think it stops listing episode numbers right up until the end of the year on other shows. I’ll comment on this once I get a chance to look.

  14. Ok I just checked Digimon Savers. The schedule here again, only lists up until the end of December. Looks like we shouldn’t worry about it ending at 26 episodes.

  16. They had to have read this information somewhere though. I highly doubt the folks over at Toonzone spent their time and money in sending out a correspondent to Tokyo just to listen to that TAF press conference/Aniplex panel live in person.

I knew Toei never had a “13 episode ending”. The only time that’s ever common for any studio is when the project is scheduled for 26 episodes.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

  18. I liked the new ending. Not that the song was anything special, but the animation (and the little story)was really nice. I wish the series would have a few episodes which would be of a similar mood/setting.

  20. Tv-Tokyo, Toei and Aniplex have done a good job with this serie, and has becomed popular out of Japan, something that is rare for new series (specially when have not been released out of Japan). I understand that Japan producers just take in count her country for the series, but will be good if they also take in count other countries (that’s what made Tv-Tokyo released Saint Seiya Hades Saga).
