「Saimoe ‘12」 “Groups G & H – Day 2″ ~ Second Round Results

Winners: Hitagi and Shana.

Group G2-2 Results:

  • 1位 279票 Senjougahara Hitagi @ Nisemonogatari

  • 3位 114票 Takanashi Hina @ Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!

Group H2-2 Results:

  • 1位 288票 Shana @ Shakugan no Shana III – Final
  • 2位 224票 Kuroyukihime (Black Lotus) @ Accel World
  • 3位 81票 Shinonome Nano @ Nichijou

Looks like Nisemonogatari got their first rep to be an R3 qualifier. Hitagi seemed to have no problem winning on KugiRie combo day. She earned a total vote count of 279; about 98 more so than Aria. Always great to add more variety to the contest.

Over in the “H” region we have veteran Shana showing that her spirit continues to burn brightly in a fiery passion. It was a hard-fought battle between Kuroyukihime and her, but she came through with a vote count of 288; around 64 more so than Hime.

This brings my record for correct R2 predictions so far to 21-7.

For today’s matches, I’ll be supporting Yamada and Rika. Good luck to your favorites.

    1. Nooooooooooo, Aria! Well, 2 of the 5 tsunderie wonders were eliminated. That leaves Shana, Louise and Nagi on the fight. It’s probably Shana and Louise’s last time in the contest, so we’ll see how it goes. All I want now is Sena to win tomorrow.

    2. Shana has won the hard-fought fiery battle over the Black Lotus, but it was a split day for the Kugimiya fans, as Hitagi continues the fight for Ghostory by eliminating the weakest knight Aria.  Four are left in the competition to try to topple team Saki up ahead, and we’ll only see three at best after the next round.
The next Block G fight marks the first four-way round 2 match since 2007.  Aoi, now the new #1 of team Working!! due to Poplar’s demise, has the highest preliminary rank of the foursome and is the big favorite to advance, but Tsukihi has momentum from yesterday’s votes and is the strongest challenger.  Considering how team Ghostory has done so far, though, it’s an uphill battle for the phoenix.  Rea is not as strong as Tsukihi despite the deadlock, and Kotori is the lowest remaining 765 representative left, so they’re left out.  Nazuna has a shot to advance via a combo vote from Aoi in H, but Mio wants to close her Saimoe career with a far run and is the stronger candidate to make it into round 3 for the second time.  Can Rika spring an upset bid as the last of the three past champions still in the competition despite her age?
Nisemonogatari/Impostory has shuffled the rankings of the Ghostory team since the fire sisters garnered more screentime.  Hitagi and Nadeko are still #1 and #2, followed by the vampire Shinobu at third, but there’s still a big gap between them and the rest.  The Arararagis are competiting with Mayoi for fourth now, with the phoenix slightly ahead of the bee.  Tsubasa and Suruga have dropped to seventh and eighth.

    3. As much as I like Kotori, I’m gonna have to go with Yamada for group G.  If either of the other 2 contestants win that group I may seriously start raging about the way this years tourney is playing out.
