「Saimoe ‘12」 “Groups G & H – Day 3″ ~ Second Round Results

Winners: Tsukihi and Mio

Group G2-3 Results:

  • 1位 199票 Araragi Tsukihi @ Nisemonogatari
  • 2位 138票 Yamada Aoi @ WORKING’!!
  • 3位 98票 Otonashi Kotori @ The iDOLM@STER
  • 4位 54票 Sanka Rea @ Sankarea

Group H2-3 Results:

  • 1位 211票 Akiyama Mio @ K-ON!! Movie
  • 2位 158票 Takanashi Nazuna @ WORKING’!!
  • 3位 106票 Furude Rika @ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira

Results of yesterday’s 4-way assault are in. After a mighty convincing win from series ally Hitagi the day before, Tsukihi manages to ride out the storm and schedule her own match for R3. She came away with a total vote count of 199; roughly 61 more votes than her closest opponent Yamada.

On the “H” side we have K-ON’s Mio carry her campaign to the next battle with ease. Amusing how today she is the series’ sole representative, considering what had happened in 2009 — eliminated in R1. She stood her ground with a vote count of 211; about 53 votes more than Nazuna.

The final matches of Round 2 are now coming to a close. One of my top picks Ika is up next. However she will have to contend with both Ako and Maelstrom. Perhaps having two Kanemoto Hisako character roles will help complicate things enough for Ika to win. There’s also Group H to look forward to. You know the group with zero Saki reps. Meat needs to win tomorrow. Good luck to your picks.

    1. It’s funny how from the 2 characters who tied in the first round, one was in 1st this time and the other was in 4th.

      Go, Senaaaaaaaaaaa!

    2. Tsukihi jumped out to a big lead over her other opponents, forcing them to fight for second.  There may have been fake votes set at various points, but the fans of the phoenix weren’t fazed as Tsukihi secures a second spot for Ghostory in round 3 (and potentially the #3 rank within her team).  Aoi unfortunately had a disappointing showing as neither she nor Nazuna advanced and Wagnaria closes for the year.  Though Rika lost here, the round 2 memento is a highlight for Hinamizawa as part of team Higurashi’s tenth anniversary celebration.  Mio’s victory puts Kyoto back in round 3 action after two years, but could this be as far as she goes, considering her next potential opponent?
Round 2 closes with a potential duel between Ako and Ika in the G showdown.  Elsie’s win in round 1 prevents a Saki combo from occurring, but that’s only half the battle.  Ika can give Ako a lot of trouble as Ako is the current lowest Achiga-hen representative remaining.  Predicting the squid takeover to continue despite the recent controversy regarding her seiyuu, which could be potentially dangerous in derailing the invasion.  Also on tap is an even Block H fixture.  This is realistically Elsea’s final battle (there are no plans for a third Kaminomi season), but there’s no other faction that can help her tally, and what could we make of Captain Marika’s ability if she’s the only strong representative of the pirates?  Meat should be able to emerge out of the three-way tussle fresh.

    3. Yamada lost to Tsukihi!!!

      *Insert RAGE Here*

I’m sorry but this year’s tourney is really starting to suck like it never has before.  Hoping for some good surprises to start coming down the pike in round 3.
