「Saimoe ‘12」 “Groups C & D – Day 2″ ~ Third Round Results

Winners: Yayoi and Hinata.

Group C3-2 Results:

  • 1位 267票 Kise Yayoi (Cure Peace) @ Smile Pretty Cure!
  • 2位 171票 Astarotte Ygvar (Lotte) @ Astarotte no Omocha! EX

Group D3-1 Results:

  • 1位 246票 Hakamada Hinata @ Ro-Kyu-Bu!
  • 2位 199票 Kisaragi Chihaya @ The iDOLM@STER

A Precure in the Top 16 of Saimoe?! — its been so long! Yayoi has denied the Astarotte camp any further progress in this year’s tournament. Lotte came in highly favored to win this too. But even with all the experience and power carried by the Kugimiya mojo, Cure Peace shuts her offense down and wins it with a total vote count of 267; around 96 more votes than today’s challenger. Yayoi’s next step is to take on Saki’s Hisa in the Block C finals — oh I am so loving her chances here!

In Group D3-1, the dark horse RKB sends one of two survivors left to the next round. You know what that means. Idolmaster is officially out of the contest — sad day. These girls really were the surprise of the year. Who would’ve thought so many of their reps would make it this far. But anyway, our focus should be on today’s winner Hinata as she earned herself a vote count of 246; roughly 47 more votes than Chihaya. The tiny athlete will have to face off against veteran Louise in the Block D finals — おー!

For today’s matches, I’ll be supporting both Sanya and Kuro. Predicting these same two will win as well. Good luck.

    1. What a fitting birthday present for Nagisa Misumi (Cure Black), the only previous Precure to make it this far in Saimoe (Nagisa made it to quarterfinals in 2004).  Nagisa’s birthday is apparently today according to fanon.

Even though team Idolmaster has a successful campaign this year, making it into round 3, the loss of their final representative reflects the current mood of the other two leads in the Namasukka TV booth (though the background is altered of course).  Upsets were desparately needed to send any of team 765 into the Elite Eight despite an early favorable draw, and the event in the lower half represented a golden opportunity for the winner.  It was an exciting duel that ended in Hinata continuing to hold aloft Kenshin’s chances and securing a battle against Louise next week.  However, now I’m doubting whether either she or Shana can get into the finals now.  Lotte’s failure mans we have witnessed a major Kugimiya loss three days in a row, with the first one the only expected outcome.  This may show how the Kugimiya clan may have taken their matches for granted.  Shana better watch her back if she wants to win in her final eligible year.
The upper half of Block E features two candidates as the last survivors of their teams, neither of whom are their main characters.  Sanya hopes to become the second 501 member to get to the Elite Eight, and Skuno, in the only eligible year for the visual novel, hopes to shoot her down in an upset.  Shirakiin seems to be the lighest of the first-prelim leaders still standing, and going against the Dora Lord isn’t going to help things out; Kuro shouldn’t have any trouble winning her duel.
