    1. Vote spikes were in play as the last second-round battles have just concluded. Miporin emerges as a shock winner in Block B as Ako is the first of the Achiga quintet to fall. How this would impact the two big titans in teams Saki and Madoka will be seen soon, but then again, it doesn’t look like the Anglerfish captain is going to advance farther since Kuro wants revenge and has Yuu on her side (the Matsumis are fighting together on their next match day). The Chuunibyou contingent is now looking to sweep Block C when they battle again in a couple weeks’ time with Rikka defeating Cthulko soundly. The Wicked Eye now will have to duel a Puella Magi directly in the next round. Toki smashed the last Pretty Cure candidate left, which gets us one step closer to a rematch between two champions, but only if Yuu loses, which isn’t likely now.
Block D commences with two consecutive four-way battles. Today’s fixture may actually benefit Saki, because the Neighbors’ Club is hampered by a same-series split. Had Rika not been present, Saki may have an uphill fight against Sena, but with the presence of the mad scientist siphoning off votes, Meat will have trouble keeping afloat. However, what helps Saint Chronica is that both their numbers 1 and 2 seeds are fighting together, so Meat may pull a victory off after all. Kotori isn’t strong enough to take advantage of the split herself and might not catch up. Speaking of split votes, Raildex is also in trouble as Uiharu and the “final” Misaka clone will have trouble overcoming the strong gothic vampire. The first second-round fight in Block F is “Watashi”’s to lose; Akiko will have to wait for répéchage to advance, and Hekiyou’s Saimoé career likely ends here barring another new adaptation.
